Last year I started sculpting with polymer clay. I decided to make miniature animals because I loved the miniatures I've been collecting from Koki Craft . She uses traditional clay but I wanted to try it with polymer as I can bake it at home and don't need a kiln.  I'm really enjoying learning how to make things with it. At the moment I'm using white polymer clay from Kmart. This has a soft texture which I like as I find harder ones a bit hard on my hands. I also find it easier to work with than paper clay, which is funny because I used to think I should stick with paper clay as it was the cheapest but it turns out I'm improving faster with polymer clay.  I have been painting my creatures with acrylic paints after baking. Most acrylic paints work well but a few seem to get a bit sticky. I then coat the finished item with a few layers of Modpodge.   DAY 4 WEDNESDAY: South Melbourne  We went to the South Melbourne Markets in the morning. I grabbed an iced decaf coffee on soy. We got to try bushfood popcorn from Uncle Charlie's Tastes of Country. Our favourite was Bush tomato and River Mint. We grabbed two bags as presents. I wish I had got more because I kept wanting to eat it myself! Image not mine. They had an Oyster bar where you could buy a few oysters at eat them at this wooden bar with condiments. They also had cooked lobster, sea urchins, and all sorts of other seafood you could eat there. It was an interesting set up I had not seen before. (Obviously I did not eat any.) The weather was really good again so we decided to grab food and take it to a park instead of the food court. We got vegan slices: Notella and a chocolate and raspberry which was really rich and delicious.  DAY 3  TUESDAY: Alexander McQueen and The Royal Botanic Gardens Outfit for the McQueen exhibition. Blouse from Dangerfield, necklace from Gifts of Mercy Jewelry Jon's outfit. Tie and jacket opshopped. More street art A clock made of flowers across from the gallery. On Tuesday morning, we went to see the Alexander McQueen Exhibition at the NGV. We probably should have waited until later in the day as it was packed, but we managed. It was an amazing and inspiring exhibition.  This collection was inspired by classic art of Heaven and Hell It was hard to photograph with the lighting but some of the fabric was printed with images from paintings.
