Morrigon, Clothing for the Dark Muse show at The Australian Paranormal and Spiritual Expo

 Kylie Allerton, a very talented friend of mine is a designer of her own label,Morrigon, Clothing for the Dark Muse. On Saturday the 21st of September, I attended the Australian Paranormal and Spiritual Expo where I was part of her fashion show. It was more of a performance piece, really, themed aroudn an evil, undead circus, and the innocent maiden who was lured in. We got to wear some of Kylie's amazing designs, and had a great time!

 The talented Elouisa Dawn who was the bird woman read her own poem, I actually met her through Steampunk, at the Katoomba Library Lovers Day in Februrary.

I also met Scarlett, who was the Ringmistress.

 
Dij was a creepy clown. He is also a very talented craftsperson, and very involved in the Steampunk scene!


My outfit was a pale purple corset top, and a dark purple skirt with red insert. I also got to wear a purple shawl. I loved the colours, and I really enjoyed getting to dance around slowly and play with a real crystal ball.

It was a great day, it was wonderful modelling such beautiful clothes, and meeting Scarlett and Nicola! I hope we can do it again sometime!

Quilt Cover to Cottagecore Dress!

This one has been a long time coming! I took a lot of breaks due to some issues and learned a lot along the way! It all began when I found a secondhand quilt cover with two really pretty patterns: I used my go-to pattern for the skirt. I went with the longer length skirt (view A and B) with the ruffle from the edge of the quilt cover on the bottom. The ruffle. I initially cut out a different bodice but I didn't like the fit. I d ecided to combine the two different fabrics into a Gunne Sax inspired dress with the bodice cut from remainders of both fabrics and a different bodice pattern.  The bodice pattern I chose. The new bodice pieces. After that I abandoned the project for quite some time. The centre bodice and side front pieces refused to line up right. I checked and made sure I had cut them out right and I had. I received advice that I needed to notch them and they finally lined up!  For the sleeves I had a limited amount of fabric so I had to go with quite small cap sleeves. G

Queensland Holiday Part 1: Ripley's Believe It or Not

DAY 1: Sunday We arrived at Gold Coast Airport from Sydney early in the morning and got a bus to Surfer's Paradise. Once there we got an early check in at our hotel in the Q1 building at about 12.15, and went out to look around. We checked out the shops and beach. We had an ocean view from our room and could see and hear the waves. DAY 2: Monday Day two's weather was punctuated by rain showers but we were doing mostly indoor activities, so it wasn't a big problem. We started out at Ripley's which was just off the main street in Surfer's Paradise. Update

 Hi there, it's been a long time since I visited blog land!  Life has been really busy and I have not had any time to write or make videos! Blogging and commenting have fallen by the wayside of my schedule! Thanks to lovely Bracken for asking about my stories, I have written a couple of short stories but I haven't had time to edit them. I am thinking of self publishing a little short story collection but I haven't had time for that either! I have had a few adventures and done some crafts, hopefully I will get around to posting pictures eventually!
